Christ Church has been a center for the worship of God and an important part of the Westerly-Pawcatuck community for over 175 years. Christ Church Parish was founded in 1834 and the cornerstone of the present building, located at the corner of Elm and Broad streets, was laid in 1891. The vitality of Christ Church can be experienced through its worship, its music, its study, its services and its play. More of a Hospital for sinners than a showcase for saints, we know that in His infinite mercy God has called us together as a congregation in His Church.

	Join Us for a Picnic - Sunday, June 14 at 11:00am Join us on the church lawn immediately following the 10 am service, Sunday, June 14 at 11:00am. The Men’s Club is firing up the grills and cooking up some hamburgers & Hotdogs. Everyone is asked to bring your favorite side dish to share. Fun, Food and Games! Also Featuring… The Christ Church Pie Bake-Off! Bring your favorite pie and the recipe on a card. The judging for best pie will be done by a famous local food critic. Pies will then be served for dessert!

	The Rev. Deacon M. P. Schneider We have a new Deacon! The Reverend Deacon M. P. Schneider is a recent graduate of The General Theological Seminary and a ‘transitional deacon’, someone who is on track for eventual ordination to the priesthood and will be with us until she is called to serve at a parish and can then be ordained as a priest. We are blessed to have her join us on Sundays for the foreseeable future! Deacon MP will serve liturgically as a deacon at the 8 & 10 AM services and will rotate into the preaching schedule. 	The Green Corner - June 2009 - Environmental Stewardship This month let’s go into the laundry area. Of course we all know about using cold water to wash and rinse with but let’s take a look at cutting down the dryer usage. When your clothes washer finishes all of the cycles and has turned off, fluff the clothes and run just the spin cycle a second time. Again, run just the spin cycle. This extracts more of the water from the articles of clothing and shortens the dryer time. Read More >>
